Years ago when sailors used to travel back and forth between the European & North American continents, they would get scurvy. One of the best ways to prevent scurvy is with Vitamin C & Fermented Foods. So the sailors would begin taking cabbage & citrus fruits with them when they were sailing to prevent scurvy.
