Hello dear ones, it has been a minute since we've had a heart to heart conversation.
With the mainstream media & news outlets reporting higher numbers of a certain virus being contracted, many of you are feeling uneasy. Whether you are feeling uneasy about contracting this virus, keeping your family afloat and bills paid, or the growing number of restrictions being put upon the American people.... I am here for you.
My inbox has been flooded over the last 7 days so much so that I'm having trouble keeping up with them. If you have emailed me, please don't fret, I will get back with you soon! I've had more requests for zoom and Skype meetings to go over family supplement plans now than I did back in March. While the state of our world looks scary, we can do this together & we can rebuild.
As I've said many times before, I am not someone who prefers to live in fear, while I struggle with that from time to time... I also don't believe in being over confident.. I believe in the right level of caution that doesn't lead to fear or anxiety.
I assure you friends, I am here with you & for you. Below I'm going to outline some things to give you hopefully some peace and direction in this time. Remember, I am just an email away.
Early in the morning, when the sun begins to rise... I feel a taste of a cool breeze & I can almost smell the spicy notes of Autumn... Here where I live, in Michigan, Autumn means bonfires, crunchy leaves, some crunchy leaves being burned (a smell that I can only describe as home), pumpkin patches, blooming farmer's markets, and cool mornings.
About two months ago, I began to start outlining how I wanted Autumn to go for my shop. I wanted this year to be a bit different than the other years... and boy was I right. About 2 weeks after I began to prep... I ruptured a disk in my lumbar spine (lower back) and it made standing very difficult for a bit. Now, I am on the mend but still moving slowly... but I haven't quit. In this post, I will be outlining some things you will be seeing in September!
Premature aging of the skin is not something anyone wants. People seem to have a passion for holding onto their youth, whether that means their physical appearance or other activities. So when I get clients that come to me in their early to mid 20s and their skin looks much older, I find myself very concerned.
In this article, I outline a few ways you might be prematurely aging your skin and a few ways you can work to reverse that.
It is Summer!! As a kid, I looked forward to Summer all year long. I loved the warm weather, no school, and running barefoot throughout the neighborhood. I used to get up early, do my chores, and prove they were done-- so I could be off to play with my friends until lunch time. Now that I am a mom, I still love Summer, although sometimes, I hate getting outside because there are so many things to get done indoors right??
Here is my list of what I love to have on hand & how I help make sure Summer is that magical, wonderful time for my kiddos-- and links to find them!
Picture it, High School circa 2006 and I am passing all sorts of clots during my lunch break. I'm fighting back tears as I put my last pad into my underwear. This was getting out of hand. What was I going to do? I pull up my pants & say a prayer that I can make it through the rest of the school day without leaking & embarrassing myself at school-- or maybe worse, on the bus. As I washed my hands, there were about 10 other girls in the bathroom talking about the latest drama. I feel uncomfortable as I take a quick peak at myself in the mirror, great ANOTHER painful zit has made an appearance, right in the middle of my forehead. I feel slightly lightheaded and feel like doubling over in pain due to the cramps. God I hated being a girl.
But here is the truth. I never knew the first thing about hormone health. The current talk was most girls in my high school had irregular periods, it was normal, and were put on birth control. Truth is, I never knew when my period would come or not come. Little did I know that 9 years later, I would meet a wonderful midwife, a doula, and some amazing people that taught me all about hormone health and how to truly balance my hormones & they would ultimately change the course of my life.
Who am I?
My name is Jes! I am the earth loving, natural parenting, Jesus loving weirdo your mama might have warned you about! I am the owner of an organic, chemical free skin care product line, called HBC Organics.
