It is important to know that Honeysuckle is made for acute (sudden) symptoms not chronic (all the time) symptoms.
Some herbalists will make honeysuckle syrup for their clients suffering from colds, sore throats, and bronchitis. Honeysuckle syrup, not only tastes amazing, but is great for kids who don't like the taste of icky cough medicines. It is also super simple to make!
_-2 Cups Fresh Honeysuckle Flowers (or 1 cup dried) (harvest your own or buy some here)
-4 Cups Fresh, Purified Water
-2 Cups Raw Honey (I like this kind)
-Combine water and honeysuckle in a pan and bring to a boil.
-Turn heat down and allow honeysuckle to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
-Turn off heat and cover, allow to sit for 5-10 minutes.
-Now it is time to separate the flowers, pour the mixture through a mesh strainer or cheesecloth and discard the flowers.
-Now put the liquid back into the pan and add the raw honey.
-Turn heat on very low, and stir until the honey has properly mixed with the water.
-Remove from heat and store in a fabulous glass container.
-Take 1 Tsp to 1 Tbsp for symptoms.
