Well I fell asleep around 10 pm last night and got up around 9am this morning! The pain in my lower back is starting to go away- Thank GOD! Pain was at a 2-4 all day today.
I woke up around 5am- hungry. Like I hadn't ate in a million years hungry. I drank some water and ate a granola bar and headed back to bed. When I woke up at 9am, I wasn't too hungry. To be honest I laid in bed and was wondering if by Monday I will be able to workout at the gym again. I still have to be careful with running- per doctor's orders- gotta love having a weird heart beat.
I made my husband his breakfast & then made myself a smoothie. It tasted a little different because I added unsweetened freshly brewed Green Tea to it. Want the recipe?
-1/3 Cup Organic Greek Yogurt
-1/3 Cup Organic Frozen Strawberries
-1/3 Cup Organic Pineapple
-1/2 Organic Banana
-1 Cup Green Tea
It was pretty yummy if I do say so myself! My husband and I continued today to work on unpacking our house. We actually finished today! Woohoo! All we have left to do is hang our wall art and buy an entertainment center. We want to install shelves too for our extensive DVD collection! It was a lot of hard work!
What else did I eat today?
Well I had 2 quarts of detox water (combine 1 liter of water with 1/2 cut up cucumber, 1 sliced lemon, and 15 mint leaves).
I got horribly hungry at about 2:30 today so I snacked on a gluten-free graham cracker.
Around 5 served dinner for my husband and I. I made him lamb tips and roasted potatoes. Even though I'm a vegetarian I stole a bite of him lamb-- I have tasted beef, chicken, and turkey since I went Veg and I have to say I didn't like any of them- the only thing I have liked was lamb. (shocker). I had some detox salad like yesterday and a cup of vegetable broth.
I also made no-bakes-- but healthy ones! You can find the recipe here. I am one of those people who craves sweets- I'm not a salty craver ha! I have to trick my body into making things that taste unhealthy but they really are healthy. Anyways I had 2 no bakes tonight.
Then I cut up my organic mangoes that I just bought! I'm looking forward to having them in my smoothies this weekend!! Of course I stole a few bites of mango!
See friends, detoxing, losing weight, cleansing, etc doesn't always mean limiting the amount of food you take in. It is about changing the foods you eat to support your body the best way possible. Those 5 pounds I gained in the last month- it wasn't "fat" that I gained. I gained chemicals, table salts, and water weight. My body is just getting back into the way I normally eat, but also restricting myself a little bit to make it easier on my body. My weight this morning was 146.8. That is down 1.2 pounds since yesterday!
