Well my husband woke me up at around 7am this morning... 7.... in the morning... on a Saturday... Yeah! Let that sink in just a tad bit.. Of course I laid in bed until around 9 when this cute Pomeranian named Mickey came and pulled my phone charger out of the wall so I would get up and play with him! It wasn't long after I got up that my hubby started asking for breakfast- you see I cook breakfast every morning for him.
On a side note- something that has nothing to do with cleansing. Appreciate your spouse. Wife or Husband. Respect. Appreciate. Love. Cherish. I have read these words before and they did not mean as much to me as they do now. My husband is in the Navy and for the first year of him being in, we weren't allowed to live together or be together. During that year we both grew up A LOT. We both found a new love for each other and respect for each other. People ask me why I cook him whatever he wants for breakfast everyday, make dinner every night, keep up with laundry, and keep his home clean.. Well I do it because I want him taken care of. A year apart teaches you things!
Okay now that I'm off my soap box-- hehe. My husband asked for French Toast and Bacon. So I made him just that.. Organic Whole Wheat Bread dipped in cage free eggs, organic ground cinnamon, and homemade vanilla extract and then toasted to perfection. He also got uncured thick cut bacon and a glass of organic orange juice. Now what did I have? I have to say this morning I really wanted some french toast- I have gluten free bread after all , but I thought I better stick to my "drink my breakfast" routine for a week. I made a pumpkin smoothie. I posted the recipe before- but can't seem to find it so here is the recipe:
1/2 Cup Organic Pumpkin (I can my own)
1 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 Scoop Organic GMO Free Vanilla Protein Powder
4-5 Ice Cubes
1 Cup Organic Coconut Milk
Blend and Enjoy!
I went about my day doing my grocery shopping. We are still new to Virginia so we have not found any local farmers or butchers that do things organically and fair. So for now it is shopping at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods- that is until my garden is put in! So I took myself to get a few necessities for the week. I happened upon Organic Popcorn Kernels and that got me thinking.. I recently read a post by Diana Glasser of The Kitchen Rag- you can read here blog here- she talked about putting avocado oil on popcorn. Well I thought to myself.. I have never made popcorn at home.. and I love it! Why haven't I done this before?! So I bought myself a bag of Organic Popcorn Kernels for $4 and off I went.
I came home and made myself some popcorn! Yummy! To be honest my husband and I did not have lunch! We had a healthy no-bake cookie, you can find the recipe here, and shared a bowl of popcorn. Do I feel bad about this? No not at all.. I think that eating popcorn is good! Especially if it is made on the stove and you control exactly what it is cooked in and what goes on top of it! You can find my recipe here.
Tonight's dinner was a little different than it would normally be. My husband invited his friend over for dinner- which is always fun for me! I enjoy cooking- but once my husband's friends start realizing how well I cook for company.. We might need to charge money at the door! Haha it can get a little tight on the budget from time to time! I like to cook Healthy home cooked food for the guys- especially because most of them do not get home cooked meals often. I made Spanish Rice (all organic, even used organic salsa I canned a couple years ago), organic chicken wings with their favorite hot sauces, left over lamb tips from my husband's dinner last night, and sauteed veggies! Yummy! I had the sauteed veggies and the Spanish rice! I have to say for the firs time in a long time... I am STUFFED! Everything I made was healthy and good for you!
Oh I woke up today in no pain whatsoever! I even did some yoga and strength training at home today! No headache today and I was full of energy. I also weighed myself this morning and I am at 146.0!
Until next time! Eat REAL food. Eat FATS. Organic! Don't overdo it but don't limit yourself either!
