In many of my recipes I refer to "homemade peanut butter" or "1 ingredient peanut butter". A lot of people have asked me when I'm teaching classes "how do you make your own peanut butter?!". I decided I would finally post a step by step tutorial!
What you need:
About 1 pound of dry roasted peanuts (I normally just get salted or unsalted- I don't like the honey roasted or sweetened peanuts)
2 tbsp honey (opt)
3 tbsp water (opt)
Magnificent jar to store your peanut butter
Pour your peanuts into your food processor
Begin blending on low
Keep blending until it seems creamy. At this point I like to add the honey and water. I do this so that I don't have to stir the peanut butter later. If you have ever bought natural peanut butter you will see that the peanut oil rises to the top.
Blend on high for about 5 more minutes (give or take a few minutes) until creamy and pliable!
Put the peanut butter into a jar or container of some sort and enjoy!
