No one likes them. If you've had itchy, rashy pits, you will sympathize with the horrible rash I had for almost 8 years. Yeah.. 8 years.
It all started when I was 13. When I was 13, my mom noticed that the hair on my arm pits was rather... long. I was a preteen and a bit smelly. I sometimes snuck my parent's deodorant on the down low, but let's be honest.. they knew and were grateful for my sneakiness.
My mom showed me how to shave my armpits and bought me my very own deodorant. I was psyched. I shaved my armpits as often as possible, I know... crazy. One day I got a rash. I assumed it was simply razor burn but it turned out to be more.
After going to the doctor, I discovered that this had to do with the deodorant I was using. My doctor simply told me to switch deodorants. I did... time and time again.. Lord knows how many times I tried with different deodorants until my doctor simply told me to stop wearing deodorant. I couldn't just stop wearing deodorant. I was 20 years old & still stunk.. like hello doc!
I had just started making soap at this time and decided to try my hand at a second product. Deodorant. I had quite a few trial and errors until I came up with my original blend of pit sticks. It worked. It worked really well. Friends tried it. My husband tried it. I added it to my etsy shop and people all over the United States began to try it and love it. Funny, I wish I would have known then what I know now.. because Natural Deodorant wasn't a big think 8 years ago, it was just starting to make a name for itself.
During this time of trial and error, I learned about the lymphatic system & how commercial deodorants are actually really bad for the body and have been linked to breast cancer. No thank you, I didn't want to deal with any of that.
A few months later I began working on a sensitive formula... now that took me years to come u with the right combination of ingredients to take the stink away, which is now known as the Ultra Sensitive Pit Stick.
