It has been said that money is the root of all evil. That might be the case, but I am starting to think that inflammation is the root of all evil. I've been seeing clients for about four years now and almost every single client I see is battling with some form of inflammation.
Let me break inflammation down for you-- as simply as possible..
--There is the type of inflammation that happens when you injure a muscle, organ, or break a bone. That is the body's way of "protecting" that area. White blood cells rush to the area, your body pulls from your mineral reserves, and the healing process begins.
--Then there is the type of inflammation that causes chronic illness. This comes from leaky gut. Leaky gut comes from many many different things, but it is basically micro tears in the gut lining. The problem with the micro tears is that our foods and waste will escape through those tears. When food and waste get into the blood stream, the body reacts by trying to get rid of those things that aren't supposed to be there. Leaky gut has been associated with allergies, autoimmune diseases, random muscle pain and weakness, depression, anxiety and SO MUCH MORE.
*It is believed that every disease in Western medicine can be traced back to inflammation* link , link, link, link, link, link, link, link, link
There are foods that can help you on your journey to healing your leaky gut such as bone broth, organic fats (coconut oil, grass fed butter, ghee, avocado oil, good olive oil, lard, tallow, etc), eating for your blood type, and many other foods!
Healing the gut can take a long time, in general, healing does not happen overnight. So what are you supposed to do in the mean time?
*Matcha Powder Tablets
*Turmeric Root Tablets
*Coconut Water (proper hydration)
*Magnesium (Epsom Salt Baths, magnesium spray, oral magnesium)
*Potassium & Calcium
Often times I will encapsulate matcha and turmeric root for my clients!
Matcha & Turmeric are my FAVORITE things to use to treat inflammation (among other things) and let me tell you some facts about each:
Other things I like to tell people who are suffering from chronic inflammation is to try the GAPS diet.. if you are up to it. You can also try going grain free & dairy free for a month and see how your body feels!
Chiropractic care is also another avenue you might want to explore!
