Today my father, uncle, cousin, and I went to a Tiger's baseball game! Not only did the Tigers crush the Blue Jays, but we had a blast! I plan on going to as many games as possible during this season!
After about the 3rd inning I started realizing that I was getting pretty hungry. So my father and I went up to buy some food. I don't know why this surprised me, but there was not many healthy options- actually there were none. After walking around for about 20 minutes, I decided on a veggie slice of pizza.
This really got me thinking. The only other vegetarian option I found was Nachos which came with that processed nacho cheese and a cup of salsa. Everything else that was available was either deep fried or close to it. I am going to be looking into getting some healthier options in at Comerica Park & Ford Field!
When I got back to my seat I told my cousin "I'm thinking, I would like to open up a stand with fresh fruit, fresh veggies, and/or smoothies! Shit I would even open up a Tropical Smoothie in here!" he replied "I'm down with that!". He told me that he started a new diet yesterday and already ruined it by having nachos and then pizza because he wasn't full.
I know that when you go to a game whether it is baseball, football, soccer, or hockey you don't really plan on eating all that healthy. I just can't help but wonder- what if there was the option? Would people chose it? I know I would love to have a smoothie or a cup with peanut butter & veggies over pizza any day.
So this is what I have to say to all of you out there: If you know who I can get in contact with to get this going- please email me or leave me a comment. My business is still rather small so I wouldn't be able to go into business alone with this. I feel very passionate about giving people better options. I would offer fruit/veggie smoothies, fresh veggie bowls with broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, carrots, and celery. I would even offer dips like hummus, peanut butter, low fat ranch (not as healthy but some people will only eat veggies with ranch), and italian dressing. Please leave me your thoughts about this! I would love to hear your views- even if you don't agree with me!
Also if you have seen this, and have the oppurtunity to do such a thing at Comerica Park- and you would like to go into business with me- my contact information is below!
