I am asked often about the foods that are most nourishing. The truth is, it is hard to find specific foods that are nourishing to everyone. Think about that last sentence. I say this because of bio-individuality. I studied it & I've seen it in my practice & with my clients over the past few years.
Bio-individuality is basically that no "diet" works for everyone. Everyone has different genetic makeup & there are different foods & supplements that each person needs. For instance, take the blood type diet. According to the blood type diet, Red Meat is a must have for the O blood types (this has been proven to be true in my practice as well), but for the A blood types they don't really need meat. To be honest, they survive best on a mostly vegetarian diet with occasional fish & poultry. BUT-- this doesn't work for everyone either. I have had A blood types that need red meat, and I have had O blood types who don't even crave red meats at all. There are a lot of factors that go into choosing the best foods for you. For the sake of a lot of people asking "What are the most nourishing foods & why" I thought I would post some basic foods that are nourishing and why :)
Like I said above-- BIO-INDIVIDUALITY!!! I have to say though, I have had all of my clients add these foods to their diet and they have felt much better. I personally have heart issues & almost died not even a year ago. I was told I would never be able to run or do any type of cardiovascular exercise... I starting drinking bone broth regularly, added beets into my diet weekly, and take apple cider vinegar in daily. Now I am running & even doing programs for weight loss for people. If you choose to try one of these foods-- choose bone broth! There is a recipe for it in my recipe index! It is nourishing and amazing! The #1 most nourishing food in my book :)
