Cooking your own food at home is something that more and more Americans tend to ignore these days. We live in a world where the faster food is prepared for us the better. The fast food industry is booming as a result of this. Thankfully, there are still people out there who want to eat REAL food. REAL food is food that is literally real. No high fructose corn syrup, no ingredients a third grader can't pronounce, and no food that our ancestors wouldn't recognize.
I grew up in a family where my grandmother loved to cook. I have many fond memories of standing on a stool in the kitchen helping grandma make bread, cookies, jams, candy, etc. To this day my grandmother still bakes her own bread. She uses an oven, but for people who don't know how to use an oven properly or simply don't have the time to watch bread bake-- there are bread makers.
The bread maker is the most amazing thing ever for me. You can set a time as for when you want the bread to begin cooking, you can choose if you want light-medium-or dark crust, you can choose the style of bread you want made, and it mixes the dough for you.
Here are some really good reasons to invest in a bread maker or start baking your own bread:
1-Healthier ingredients (no high fructose corn syrup.)
2-Lower sodium (many companies add insane amounts of sodium as a preserving agent)
3-Whole grains (whole wheat bread, whole grain bread, rye bread)
4- It is cheaper (The average loaf of bread in the store costs between $2 and $3. You can bake bread for less than $1 a loaf.)
5-It tastes so much better. (There is nothing like slicing fresh bread and eating it. It is the best taste on earth)
