![]() When you hear the word "cleanse" most of the time people imagine sitting on the toilet for hours at a time and not being able to leave the house. Although sometimes that is the case, it probably won't be the case with this cleanse for me. My husband came home February 4th and we moved to Virginia on February 15th. We then lived in hotels until February 26th- which was when we were able to move into our house. While Thomas and I were still in Michigan family, friends, and our parents wanted to go out to eat often. Eating seems to be a social even where we come from. So we ate out often. I did my best to eat healthier meals, but it just isn't the same as my body is used to. I normally do not eat processed foods, refined sugars, or gluten. ![]() To the right you see me eating Indian Food- one of my favorite Ethnic Foods out there. I was eating Samosas and Dahl. This was my husbands third day home- which I weighed 143 pounds. While he was home friends, family members, and parents wanted to eat out. I neglected my strict "no gluten" lifestyle simply because it is easier to eat gluten. I began to notice quickly that my stomach was bloating up and feeling uncomfortable. My skin even began to get a bit more pale than usual. ![]() Since my husband and I stayed in a hotel for about two weeks, we also ate out more than we ever do and ordered pizza a few times. I also wasn't drinking the proper amount of water. The first couple days at the hotel I did my best to eat healthy. I made some smoothies in my nutribullet and even cooked some veggies with herbs on the stove that we had in one of our hotels. I also won't lie- my husband and I found some sweet treats that we enjoyed a lot! Like toffee, dark chocolate mint drops, dark chocolate dipped marsh mellows, and caramels. ![]() This last Sunday my husband and I went to the gym that is free on the naval base. I was getting some cardio in and then I went over to the squat rack. I did my first set just fine and then came my second set. I was half way through and then shifted my weight to the right on the way down. I felt it as soon as I did it. My low back went out and not in a "Oh I need to see my Chiropractor way"--- nope it was a "I may never be able to bend over again please let me die now" type of going out. Haha. By Monday I was in so much pain that my husband took me to the local Urgent Care. The Nurse Practitioner confirmed that I had indeed threw my back out pretty bad and to take it easy for a few days. Well now I am on day four of bad pain. It gets a little better each day, but I still cannot sit on my butt with my legs straight out in front of me- or bend down and touch my toes. This got me thinking... It is time for a "feel better cleanse". My muscles are spasming something fierce, I have headaches, haven't been sleeping well, and my mood- sheesh I haven't been this moody in a REALLY long time! It is time to detox my mind... It is time to detox my body of all the crap I have ate in the last month and start getting active. When I am done.. I will feel stronger, sleep better, and feel better overall. I am ready to have more energy! What will this consist of? Dry brushing, vitamins & supplements, Nutribullet recipes, green tea, tons of water, no gluten, no refined sugars, getting adequate amounts of sleep, AND blogging about it each day. I will also being doing my Krya meditation. (What is Krya? Have you ever heard of the Isha Foundation and Sadguru?) I will also post my recipes, my weight each day, and how I am feeling. I'm thinking I will do this for two weeks! Wish me luck & feel free to do it with me ! |
