Hello everyone! I would first off like to say that I was blessed, humbled, and a little surprised at the out pouring of emails and support I have received from all of you during this trying time with my health! I hope all of you learned a little something from my post- there will be more to come soon about Herbology & MRT!
So as to how I am doing- I ended up having surgery sooner than expected- I had it on 9/23/13. I was scheduled for an ablation but once the doctor got in there they were able to see that they weren't able to ablate- therefore weren't able to "fix" the problem. I woke up from the surgery pretty devastated that I wasn't able to be fixed. It is something that is hard for some people to understand. The way my heart beats has been a thorn in my side my entire life. The first time I complained of chest pain I was 7 years old. I have been told I just have a fast heart, told I was crazy and nothing was wrong, the works! It took 2 1/2 years of me not being treated and getting worse for the doctors to take me seriously and go "OH SHIT! This needs to be taken care of NOW!" I saw my cardiologist on 9/5 and had surgery by 9/23 and had a hospital stay in between there. My husband was able to come home 9/27 to spend time for about 10 days! I have to say I'm extremely exhausted but I missed my Sailor so much! We were able to get some couples photographs done that were long overdue and just spend some quality time together!
It was then found that I actually have a more serious condition that they wished would have been found possibly when I was younger. They decided that they are going to send me to the Cleveland Clinic to see a team of Doctors that specializes in something I am actually diagnosed with (HOPS) and they work with young adults that have very abnormal beats like I do.
The biggest problem they have found is they can't exactly diagnose what I have going on.. One day my heart is beating super fast or is SVT and then one day I am in A-Fib, the next day I am in Sick Sinus Syndrome and so on. I am still going along with Naturopathic Therapies -- and before one of you conventional therapy junkies comment -- it has been okay-ed by my doctors. I have made it very clear and my doctors understand and agree that I don't want to go all conventional with this I was my Naturopath & Cardiologists to work together- which is my ultimate dream. I personally believe that if Naturopaths & MDs worked together and consulted each other we would have a much healthier America.
So where exactly do I go from here???
Well I am going up to school this weekend and will be talking to the Naturopath that runs the school and consulting with my fellow naturopathic students. I am going to see my actual Cardiologist later this month and he will send me to Cleveland Clinic. Then we will see where we go from there. I have a long road of re-doing uncomfortable tests and trials but I am being positive! Mediation, Yoga, Supplements, Herbs, Tests, & more are in my future :) No running until further notice though :(
Until next time !
Who am I?
